You can criticise John Boyega on social media all you want. He may even see the comments. They won’t bother him, though.
In an interview to promote his new film Pacific Rim Uprising, Boyega explained to Mashable why negative Twitter and Facebook remarks don’t really get to him (jump to 01:57 in the clip above).
“It is what it is,” says Boyega. “I feel like for me to get any type of criticism I would have had to work to a certain point. I would have had to gain success for someone to say ‘I didn’t like Star Wars‘.
“What I fixate on is, ‘Wait a minute, I’m in Star Wars?! I think it’s brilliant! These are the comments that every actor should hope to get. It means you’re doing well. You’re doing something.”
Pacific Rim Uprising is out in cinemas this Friday 23 March.
