This summer, the hottest fashion accessory is not a pair of Gucci sunglasses, or a pair of Prada loafers. In fact, the must-have item can’t even be bought in Barneys or Bloomingdales. Why? Because the latest trend is not something that can be bought with your daddy’s credit card.
The trend has already received a great deal of support from supermodels such as Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. But they’re only taking inspiration from your favorite ’90s stars who were the first to bring the trend to prominence, from Jennifer Anniston to Kate Moss, it’s a style which has been very Vogue since day one.
Here is an exclusive peek of this summer’s hottest look…
Possessing ‘designer nipples’ is the latest trend to surge through Hollywood as the image-conscious of this world work to make every element of their body picture perfect. So put your store loyalty cards away, this trend is sold exclusively by your local cosmetic surgeon.
As more and more celebrities opt to go braless on the red carpet, plastic surgeons are seeing a dramatic rise in the number of women coming to them for the perfect perk.
“I love Kendall Jenner, and I love that she just doesn’t wear a bra. You can’t see her nipples, but you can see the pointiness,” 28-year-old Susan, a ‘designer nipple’ customer, explained to The New York Post. “I think there’s something really sexy and feminine about it.”
“I think it would be really cool to have protruding nipples all the time,” Susan, a New York native, adds. “Just to be able to feel constantly like a woman with my proud protruding nipples would be amazing.”
Discussing the popularity of pert points, surgeon Dr. Norman Rowe explained:
“We see celebrities wearing sheer tops and sheer dresses which exposes their nipple. This kind of just follows through to our patients. They see these celebrities wearing these sheer dresses and they would like to emulate and mimic that type of clothing and they want their nipples and the areola to be presentable.”
“I specalize in the designer nipple, a term that I coined, in which I pretty much predominantly emphasize work on the nipple and the areola itself … I think a lot of patients are coming in with the intent of, you know, burning their bra.”
The cost of the designer nipple service varies,” explains Dr. Rowe. “It really depends on what procedure the patient needs. It begins at $700 and goes up from there depending on if they want to change the areola, [to make it] larger or smaller. Change the nipple, larger or smaller. Change the color of the areola, darker or even lighter.”
The work will then last for two years, which is significantly longer than botox injections to the face. So with that in mind, do you think it’s worth it?! Would you indulge in ‘designer nipples’?
With feminism slowly taking over the planet, are ‘designer nipples’ the way forward?
